Kootenay Columbia College’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Student Clinic has been treating patients in Nelson, B.C. for more than 20 years.
At our Chinese medicine Student Clinics, patients are treated by students in their final years of study in the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Acupuncturist, or Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbalist programs. Treatments include acupuncture, Chinese medicinal herbs, cupping, tuina massage, and moxa, as required. In addition, 2nd and 3rd-year students offer tuina massage clinics once a week. All students practice under the supervision of a licensed practitioner (R. TCM. P or Dr. TCM.).

The TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) student clinic supervised by licensed practitioners is a dynamic and educational environment where students studying Traditional Chinese Medicine can gain hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced professionals. This clinic serves as a bridge between classroom learning and real-world practice, providing both students and patients with valuable opportunities for growth and healing.
In a TCM student clinic, students have the chance to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting. Under the watchful eye of licensed TCM practitioners, students conduct consultations, perform diagnostic assessments, create individualized treatment plans for patients, and provide treatments. Treatments often include a combination of acupuncture, herbal remedies, dietary advice, and other traditional therapies. The licensed practitioners provide guidance and oversight, ensuring that students are delivering safe and effective care.
