Do you believe that food is medicine? Do you want to guide people towards health and wellness through the foods they eat? Our Holistic Nutrition Diploma Program offers you a comprehensive two-year diploma program to prepare you for a range of careers focused on nutrition to support overall health.
I did lots of looking around at other programs before joining the school here. It is my second year and I have enjoyed it. Nelson is an amazing place to study, and I adore being surrounded by like minded individuals in the classroom. Although the workload is heavy (as will be with a lot of health orientated programs) the school has lots of options in helping students… Educational for all.
The passion the professors and the school holds for health is what truly inspired me- and continues to inspire me to study here. Watching the successful practitioners… that walk out of the doors as new professionals reminds me when studying gets hard that it is all worth it.

What is Holistic Nutrition?
When you think of holistic nutrition, chances are you think of food, among other natural methods of managing health and wellness. Specifically, though, holistic nutrition is based on the philosophy that health is the outward expression of the complex relationship between the physical and the chemical; mental and emotional; and the environmental and spiritual aspects of our being and living.
As a practice, it dates back centuries. The term holistic was coined in the early 20th Century to represent the whole. It conveys the reality of interconnection between our minds and bodies and encompasses the entire being.
Our diploma program educates students about the total being with a focus on how the food we eat can contribute to or undermine our whole health. We explore nutrition in the context of individual body ecology, eating patterns, and lifestyle factors.
