The one-on-one time with instructors in the Traditional Chinese Medicine programs and intimate nature of this school is irreplaceable. The instructors are truly passionate about their subject matter and with a vast array of specialties, you gain so much knowledge about Traditional Chinese Medicine. The instructors have helped me gain confidence and through passionate teaching, I have extended my studies from the 3-year program of Acupuncture to the 4-year TCMP program.

1. What can I expect to take away from this introductory course?
By completing the course, you’ll gain foundational knowledge about the field of Registered Massage Therapy. You’ll have a better understanding of the therapeutic benefits of massage, the role of RMTs in healthcare, and an insight into whether pursuing a career in massage therapy aligns with your interests.
2. What topics will be covered during the 3-day course?
The course covers a range of topics, including basic anatomy and physiology, hands-on massage techniques, an introduction to the principles of massage therapy, and an overview of the role of RMTs in promoting wellness.
3. Do I need prior experience in massage therapy or healthcare to enroll in this course?
No prior experience is required. The course is designed to accommodate individuals who are new to massage therapy and are interested in gaining insight into the field. It’s a great starting point for anyone curious about the world of RMT.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Students will learn about the mechanics of nutrition and how to incorporate Holistic Nutrition strategies into their daily lives
- Students will learn to identify local plants and herbs and their basic applications for health
- To inform students about the field of Holistic Nutrition and the work of people in the related fields of Nutrition, Healthcare, Herbalism, and Medicine
- Students will explore local foods, herbs, natural medicines, and tinctures and learn their tastes and uses
- Students will take away an understanding of what Holistic Nutrition is and the role it plays in health and well-being
- Students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of Anatomy and Physiology and how they relate to Holistic Nutrition
Admission Prerequisites:
- Grade 12 graduation or equivalent (BC High School Diploma, BC Adult Graduation Diploma, General Education Development- GEC, or an equivalent secondary school completion from another jurisdiction). Or a minimum of 19 years of age.
- A completed application form.
Admission Requirements:
- Physician’s certificate of health (Western, Chinese, or Naturopathic physician); a general statement of your current state of physical and mental health; severe allergies must be mentioned in it.
- Two letters of recommendation (sent directly to KCCIHS)
Application fee of $100.00 CDN ($200.00 for International applicants) [non-refundable] payable to KCCIHS. - Out-of-country applicants should submit the application fee in the form of a money order in Canadian Funds. In case you have difficulty obtaining Canadian funds please contact KCCIHS. The Registrar may request a personal or telephone/Skype interview with any applicant.
