Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences (KCCIHS), formerly the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS), is a well-established post-secondary College since 1996. KCCIHS is PTIB designated. The College is also a designated institute through the BC Student Assistance Program (Student Aid BC), and all diploma programs offered at KCCIHS qualify for funding options.
The heart of KCCIHS lies in our amazing teaching faculty and students. Our faculty consists of passionate individuals, many of whom run successful private practices or have decades of experience working in their modalities. We are lucky at KCCIHS to have such a diverse teaching staff, ranging from Medical Doctors, Herbalists, Chiropractors, RMTs, Acupuncturists, Osteopaths, Doctors of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Naturopaths and many more.
For select programs, students can learn in person at our Nelson campuses or through online sessions from the comfort of their homes. We also offer blended delivery options for some programs to meet the ever-changing needs of our students. Ask us which programs have these options.
At KCCIHS, we focus on hands-on skills, in addition to traditional academics. Students enrolled in all of our programs benefit from exposure to guest lectures, informal discussions, observation of licensed practitioners, and much more.
Small class sizes and an inspiring and highly qualified teaching faculty ensure that students get the most out of their education at KCCIHS. We make sure to provide students the one-on-one support they need to thrive.
Members of the public can book treatments with students in practicum at KCCIHS. We offer Massage treatments and Traditional Chinese Medicine therapy sessions. The priority of our student clinics is to enhance our student’s education.
Our mission is to fully prepare students to take on the challenges they’ll encounter in the industry. Working in state-of-the-art student clinics at KCCIHS, our students learn hands-on techniques that can help them jump-start their career.
KCCIHS is a well-established, government-accredited school with over 20 years of Private Training Institutes (PTIB) accreditation. This standing means that our programs, instructors, and facilities are all government-approved and regulated and that our students are eligible for student loans.
